A drive through Moab.

Moab is a unique place to experience.

You stare at natural red rock formations precariously held together through millions of years of erosion, contemplating the scale of time and how brief life is in comparison. The realization that humans have looked at these exact formations for lifetimes that seem so distant it borders on incomprehensible. What was their day-to-day life like? What did they contemplate in a moment of daydreaming, staring at these same rock faces?

I’d like to say I disconnected, embraced nature and left my phone in the hotel room. But I didn’t.

There’s something funny about being in a place so expansive in size, mass, and time. Only to pull out your phone to post an Instagram story. It’s the antithesis of the surrounding, something so fleeting and impermanent. But there we are, all three of us with our phones out, trying to capture the scale of the scenery on a 6” glass screen with pixelated resolution from poor cell service.

Our time here was brief - a few hours of wondering, some laughs, and a lot of awe - a metaphor of life maybe?

Anyway, here are some photos from those few hours we spent in Arches National Park. I like them. Maybe you will too.
